Apple crisp
  1. 6 tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  2. 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  3. 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  5. 1/4 teaspoon ground clover
Topping
  1. 3/4 cup flour
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 1/8 teaspoon salt
  4. 6 tablesppons butter or margarine
  5. 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
  1. Mix the apples, lemon juice, 1/2 c. sugar, cinnamon and cloves together in a large bowl.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a well greased 2 1/2 to 3 quart baking dish.
  3. Combine the flour, sugar and salt in a bowl and with a pastry blender.
  4. Cut in butter or margarine until mixture is crumbly.
  5. Stir in the walnuts and sprinkle the mixture over the apples.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until apples are tender and topping is browned.
Notes
  1. Helpful Hints: This can be also baked in a microwave-safe baking dish in the microwave for 6 1/2 minutes on high.
