What is Green Energy?
Green Energy is green power is renewable energy. These are all different terms to describe energy produced from alternative fuels or resources.
Currently approximately 50% of your electricity is generated by burning coal, with the balance of generation from sources of natural gas, wind, hydro, other renewable sources, and outside purchases. This balanced approach changes on a monthly bases dependent on available renewable resources, weather, scheduled maintenance, and many other factors.
What Kind can You Buy?
You can purchase green energy through the “Access to Green Energy” program at Access Energy Cooperative. Your power supplier will be utilizing the most efficient type of renewable energy available in order to make it affordable for all members.
Who can Buy Green Energy?
The “Access to Green Energy” program is available first-come-first serve to all members on a voluntary basis. By taking advantage of the option to purchase green energy, you can make a positive environmental choice that will help conserve our natural resources and reduce fossil fuel emissions for future generations.
What Does it Cost?
The Access to Green Energy Program offers green energy to our members:
