Sun & Fun Comes to Fairfield
Sun and Fun Motorsports LLC closed on an Access Energy Cooperative Revolving Loan Fund loan last month for a business startup project in Fairfield, Iowa. The company purchased the shell building that was built in the Fairfield Economic Development Association (FEDA) Industrial Park. Sun & Fun is a multi-line powersports dealership headquartered in Iowa City and is the largest powersports store in the Midwest in terms of brands under one roof.
With the edition of the Fairfield facility, Sun & Fun will be adding Can-Am to its product line-up, and will initially sell on-road motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs . Other products will be added to the lineup in the future.
With the sale of the shell building, FEDA was able to pay off two of their Revolving Loan Fund loans to the Access Energy Cooperative Revolving loan fund account. The cooperative was able to relend $500,000 of the Revolving Loan Fund account to Sun & Fun Motorsports for their project. Once up and running, the expectations of this project is to bring 17 new jobs to the Fairfield area.
